Amazing experience! Very glad you chose this section of the wall. There were 100 times fewer people here than at the more popular one. Convenient funicular and an awesome slide you can ride down at high speed. There are several viewpoints, unusual climbs to them that add action to the walk)) There are two routes of different levels that you can connect into one, but that's for the bolder ones. We only managed one, but we are still happy.
Another must do when in Beijing. I really wanted to do the chairlift with the toboggan ride down but was told I couldn’t as I am 60 plus. A bit disappointed but that quickly went away after taking the cable car to the wall. The views from the wall were incredible. The towers along the way were great to cool down in on a hot sunny day. We spent an hour + on the wall as such and with transfers up and down a total of approximately 2 hours. We arrived at 10 am and at that time the wall wasn’t overcrowded. Overall a great excursion.
Excellent experience. what was not so good was the time of year. very hot and full sun. but the place is incredible. i don't know about the wall itself. i think one idealizes the place and when i arrived and walked it, you really lose a bit of that feeling of an exceptional place. what impacted me a lot was the mountainous environment covered in green. and what is unmissable is the descent in some carts down a slide. super fun.
